The principal objective of this study was to investigate process simulation and optimization of an existing offshore natural gas process which needed profitability improvements. Optimization was done using two alternative approaches: a global approach (response surface methodology) or a local approach (successive quadratic programming). Oil & Gas Process Simulation Study of an offshore natural gas dehydration, liquids extraction and compression unit. Optimization of the operating parameters: primary separator operating conditions, dehydration parameters, cooling temperature for a sufficient liquid extraction, compression needs upstream the export pipe.

Natural gas liquefaction is an energy intensive process where the feed is cooled from ambient temperature down to cryogenic temperatures. Different liquefaction cycles exist depending on the application, with dual mixed refrigerant processes normally considered for the large-scale production of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG). This intensive three-day course is designed to address the operation and control of natural gas processing equipment on an offshore facility. Gas processing offshore involves the removal of any liquids (condensate/oil and water) from the well fluids in one or more separators before dehydrating, compressing and either re-injecting or exporting via a pipeline.

creating a natural gas industry boom. At the same time, the petrochemical industry with its new plastic materials quickly increased production. Even now, gas production is gaining market share as liquefied natural gas (LNG) provides an economical way of transporting gas from even the remotest sites. Natural Gas Hydrates. Dynamic simulation of LNG process is crucial for LNG plant design and operation. Abstract Liquefied natural gas (LNG) has been the fastest increasing fossil fuel in the world energy market due to its low carbon dioxide emission, high energy density, and ease of by: Toward more cost-effective and greener chemicals production from shale gas by integrating with bioethanol dehydration: Novel process design and simulation-based optimization.

This study designs three pressurized liquefied natural gas (PLNG) processes without CO 2 pretreatment facility for natural gas containing less than % CO 2, in which natural gas is converted into LNG at an elevated pressure (2 MPa), associated with a raised temperature ( K).

It has also studied some of the critical amine process factors for each amine type, such as the amine circulation rate and amine Keywords.

Two different simulation flowsheets were developed: a separation train composed by 2 two – phase North Sea production of Crude Oil and Natural Gas reached a plateau and a long – term decline is expected to begin.

The course has been designed to cover sweet gas processing and NGL recovery topics in a 5-day format using a commercial simulator to perform calculations. A basic working knowledge of the commercial process simulation package being used will provide the best opportunity to achieve the learning objectives of this course.

Associated gas from oil wells is the most common raw natural gas in Middle East countries and comprises about 70% of Iraq’s natural gas resources. Associated gas is usually loaded with. 3S separator which has been widely employed in separation of gas mixtures can greatly reduce the temperature of natural gas when it expands in a Laval nozzle.

The gas through the separator can not be totally liquefied due to the special working mechanism of the separator. A novel liquefaction process with a supersonic swirling separator is presented and simulated. This study also describes interfacing of ACM, Aspen Plus and Aspen HYSYS with Excel using simple examples.

Finally, the optimization of a membrane separation process for CO2 removal from natural gas for simultaneous maximization of both methane purity and recovery, using an Excel‐based MOO program and Aspen Plus, is presented. It describes and analyzes the conventional offshore processing of CO2-rich natural gas, discussing the advantages of SS in terms of cost and power consumption.

The book offers a comprehensive framework for modeling SS units, describing the physical principles of SS in detail.

The Handbook of Liquefied Natural Gas is a timely book as the industry is currently developing new large sources of supply and the technologies have evolved in recent years to enable offshore infrastructure to develop and handle resources in more remote and harsher environments.

Abstract: Natural gas dehydration is an important process in the gas processing. In this process, water vapor is removed from natural gas streams since it can cause some problems in the next process. Application of structured packing in separation processes like natural gas dehydration has been increased since last few years.Abstract LNG liquefaction is an energy-intensive process.

Energy efficiency is the major concern in LNG liquefaction process design and operation. In this paper, a new methodology for LNG liquefaction synthesis targeting energy consumption minimization is presented. It is based on thermodynamic analysis, mathematical programming, and rigorous simulation.Since MEG recovery is an energy consuming process that invariably has to be conducted in a limited space and with limited power supply, the book is a valuable resource for those involved in design, engineering, economic evaluation and environmental evaluation of topside processing on offshore platforms for natural gas production.
